2010's
An electrical short starts a fire that the Nashville Fire Department refuses to put out, resulting in a total loss fire of the Cowan Court production facility. Advanced Plating re-opens at a new facility in Portland, Tennessee.
2000's
The entire facility on Cowan Court goes under water during the great 2010 Nashville flood. Over $3-million in damages and losses.
1990's
In 1997 the facility on Trinity Lane in Nashville catches fire and does $2-million in damages. Advanced Plating moves to Cowan Court in downtown Nashville in 1998. A year later, a polypropylene tank catches fire and does $1-million in damage.
1980's
Current owner Steve Tracy meets Mike Archbold in Daytona Beach at 1987 bike week. Steve is offered 33% of the business to move to Nashville & head up Sales for Advanced Plating. The same year, Arlis McGuire departs from Advanced Plating, splitting his shares equally between Steve & Mike. In 1989, Steve and Sheri Tracy purchase Mike Archbold’s half of Advanced Plating.
1960's
Advanced Plating is founded in 1961 by Elton Cole in Old Hickory, Tennessee. In 1965, Elton Cole loses Advanced Plating to Arlis McGuire while gambling.Â
Advanced Plating was founded in 1962. In 1988, current owner Steve Tracy moved from Indiana to Nashville to become the company's first salesman. Alongside his wife, Sheri Tracy, they purchased other partner's shares to become the sole owners just a year later.Â

Advanced Plating is no stranger to hardships. In just 30 years we have experienced a 1-million loss fire, a 3-million loss flood, and another fire resulting in a total loss of our Nashville factory. In 2018, we made the move to Portland, TN. Since then, our operation has grown thanks to our customers who trust us to do the job right.
